When you think of whiskey, the first image that pops into your head, is probably a mature man drinking a neat scotch after a long day of work. Whiskey drinkers are still tough, in fact they’ve become tougher. They’re also women so we see why. Whiskey drinkers are still bold, in fact they’ve become bolder. They’re also younger so we see why.

This is Abisola Whiskey, we celebrate THIS whiskey drinker; the courageous, diverse young women and men who can share their bold spirit with parents, grandparents or even a stranger.

Abisola whiskey is not changing the game, we’re including key players.

This is not a traditional whiskey. This is a young, smooth tasting whiskey that was processed using patented filtration and and finishing technology where the liquid has come into contact with three different types of oak toasted to varying degrees; ranging from light to medium toast.

A blend of a 1-year-old Bourbon and 6-month malt whiskey, this whiskey has notes of vanilla and waffle cone to complement the caramel and spice in the blended base. Enjoy a rich aroma of apricot and almond cream with a malted chocolate finish.

Started in 2019 as a small event catering company, 4 Cats Catering showcases local ingredients in fun, exciting new ways as well as sharing a variety of different types of cuisine. During the COVID-19 Pandemic, co-founders Jessica Mulherin and her fiancé, Alex, lost their service industry jobs as did most of Americans. Trying to figure out what to do next in a new and uncertain world, they started making handmade Polish Pierogis and homemade Smoked Kielbasa for a no contact delivery to the New Orleans area.

From there, the business has grown with more wholesale of Pierogi, Kielbasa and Hot Plate delivery, Holiday Catering, Parties and Special Events as the pandemic continued. They always try to use Local ingredients to keep our Farmers, Fisherman and Purveyors also in business as we all navigate this difficult and confusing new world!

As a debt-free millennial and avid traveler, I founded “Girl Around The Globe” (GATG) to answer two questions: How do I travel? How do I pay off student debt?

We are committed to being a travel company focused on BIPOC travelers. Our first group trip to Valle de Bravo, Mexico sold out with 100% WOC. Black U.S. travelers spent $109.4 billion on travel in 2019, proving there is a market. Our company seeks to provide them with authentic representation and unique transformational travel experiences.

On the other hand, Black graduates owe an average of $25,000 more in student loan debt than white college graduates. Travel is the #1 thing people say they would do if they didn’t have the burden of student debt on their backs.

Our solution is to provide financial resources, such as a budgeting template and step-by-step get out of debt guides, and a debt tracker. Plus, our process makes travel simple. All you have to do is sign up, make deposits, show up and allow the adventure to unfold. As a result, our travelers experience adventure and meaningful connections with like-minded women in magical destinations.

As a child, Greta was captivated by Japanese art, music, culture, and most of all- sushi. Every year for her birthday, she looked forward to having a sushi dinner at a restaurant with her family. She was inspired by the unfamiliarity of sitting on tatami mats, using chopsticks, and attempting to speak in another language to order food.

Greta began rolling sushi in 2015 at Chino Latino in Minneapolis after being encouraged by a sushi chef named Ana from El Salvador. Greta trained for months before being able to work a paid shift.

In 2016, Greta worked at Rock-n-Sake New Orleans, advancing to a Sous chef position.

In 2018, Greta moved to Colorado to obtain her Master's degree in Child, Family, and School Psychology from University of Denver. While in grad school, she worked at Uchi, a James Beard Award winning Japanese fine dining restaurant for two years.

Reid worked through the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic in Denver, but decided to move back to New Orleans to be closer to her family. She is now pursuing her own business “Greta’s Sushi”.

Greta’s M.A. thesis promotes the use of school gardens to empower urban communities through knowledge and practice of health, nutrition, and ecology. She believes that gardening may be one way to combat systemic issues of poverty and racism associated with education and food apartheid. Greta enjoys volunteering in her free time at community gardens and teaching students how to cook.

“Greta’s Sushi” is dedicated to creating food with local produce and seafood to support Louisiana farmers and fishermen. Buying locally helps bring community together, create economic opportunities, and reduces environmental impact. Greta strives to be eco-friendly in her practices and endorse a future in “sustainable sushi”.

“Kahawa” means “coffee” in Swahili - our language - and 1893 is when our story begins. While coffee’s origins can be traced back to ancient forests in Ethiopia, coffee had to travel around the world before it made its way back to Africa, in 1893. Founder Margaret Nyamumbo’s grandfather was a driver for the colonial government, and managed to get his hands on some seedlings to start his own coffee farm. Growing up in a community of coffee farmers, Margaret witnessed the inequalities within the coffee industry - women provided 90% of the labor, but didn’t own land. After studying abroad in the USA, sh returned home with some ideas on how to bring Kenyan coffee to the world in a way that benefits women farmers the most.

We won’t be attending in person, but you can connect with us below and look out for a special gift from us when you arrive!
